|| Singer/Songwriter from 🇨🇦Toronto, Ontario
A passionate mother, wife and believer in Christ, Ileen Laura is a singer and songwriter who thrives on creating powerful and moving Christian music inspired by her deeply meaningful life experiences.
Currently working with Roberter Productions, Ileen is now working on her second EP with the internationally recognized producers Peter Wellington and Robby Riggs and looks forward to releasing her first singles from the album this year called “Faith In You”, which encompasses the verse Hebrews 11:1, and “Just Breathe Now”, a song about the pandemic and the health heroes that have helped the world through these unprecedented times. Also on the album will be a tribute to her son called “Benjamin’s Song”, which will include live string musicians and lyrics every mother with a son can relate to.
No stranger to the studio-album world, Ileen has previously released two other singles throughout her career including “Joy”, a song she wrote for her husband on their wedding day about finally being able to give her heart to someone she trusted and “Letters to my Daughter”, which outlines her prayer for her daughter, Carolyn.
A frequent face seen around the Ontario music scene, Ileen has opened for Walk Off The Earth and Justin Nozuka and has performed with many local artists at music festivals such as Scene Music Festival. Finding peace through performing on stage, Ileen’s unique sound blends real live strings and the classical music she grew up listening to with contemporary and electronic sounds fit for today’s world.
What started as taking piano lessons at the age of 4 has come full circle for Ileen as she is now a high school music teacher who shares her in-depth knowledge of writing and composing music to the next generation of musicians. Her passion for music followed her throughout her life as she studied classical piano at Brock University in St. Catharines with Dr. Karin DiBella.
When not on stage or writing new music, Ileen enjoys working out, travelling to Florida and supporting the Scleroderma Society of Ontario, an organization that helps bring awareness to a debilitating disease that her father is currently suffering from.
